Meals, Compassion & The Gospel
Meals on Wheels of Horry & Georgetown County glorifies Christ by delivering meals, assistance, and fellowship to neighbors who are isolated or nearing life’s end, with the hope that each person they serve encounters the love of Jesus in this life.
Their volunteers meet hundreds of people in their final season each year, offering not only food, but prayer, relationship, and spiritual care.
How Doorsteps are Changing Eternity
When a volunteer named Glenn learned a client, Mr. Johnson, had been moved off his route, he pleaded to continue visiting him. After the assignment was restored, Glenn soon returned rejoicing, Mr. Johnson had given his life to Jesus on his doorstep. Just two weeks later, he passed away in that same place.
Moments like these remind the team: each visit may be someone’s final opportunity to encounter the Gospel.
Another neighbor, Mr. Cliff, shared that volunteers’ visits changed his life: “Before their visits, God wasn’t even on my mind.” After a year of intentional friendship and discipleship, the team had the joy of baptizing him in the name of Jesus.
Since 2020, ERP has mentored CEO Michael Snuggs and his team encouraging them in hard seasons, clarifying vision, and strengthening their ministry focus. Through this partnership, Meals on Wheels has deepened mission clarity, streamlined programs, and expanded Gospel-centered outreach.
